Bio-filter also called bio tank, bio filtration tank. It is a sink type bateria breeding equipment, used for ammonia removal in many water treating projects, so it also called sink type bio-filter.
The unique structure of the bio-filter is specially designed by Lanling, the water flow inside the tank is slow, therefore the contact time with filtration media is longer, it enables the biochemical bateria to decompose the ammonia. It loads with four kinds of filtration media at the same time, for better nitrobateria and denitrifying nitrobateria breeding. As we know, biochemical bateria would like to live in high oxygen, slow flow, no UV and germicide environment. Biological filtration media are in porous, nontoxic and high specific area materials, therefore very suitable for biological bateria to filming and breeding.
In recirculating aquaculture, because the mass quantity of the fed fish food, large numbers of the food are uneaten. These food will decomposed into toxic ammonia, so biological filtration became the key process in recirculating aquaculture systems. If add some more nitrobateria into the water periodically and manually, the stable filtration effect to the ammmonia will formed inside the fitler tank. Consider to the cost, this method is the most feasible way.
